About the Artist

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Armon Cheek's family moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee, when he was four, as his Armon Cheek, Portrait Painter father, a minister, was assigned a church in that city. His mother, herself an accomplished artist in pen and ink and watercolor, a composer of religious music and a soprano in the Chattanooga Civic Choir, encouraged him to pursue the arts early in life.

Armon's propensity for capturing human expression through his accuracy in drawing skills led him to understudy with such renowned Portrait Painters as Daniel Greene and Gordon Wetmore. Armon has painted portraits for more than two decades. He has painted prominent politicians, Clergy, sports and entertainment figures, and business leaders. His work hangs in more than 20 states and in New Zealand and England.

He resides in Chattanooga, Tennessee, with his wife and children.
